The Central Soldier Register (CS) is a national project that coordinates all local soldier registers in Sweden. All local soldier registers are published via a collective public portal in an Internet-based searchable database and are freely accessible to all. All work with registration of soldiers, crofts, wives and children, is done non-profit by the local registers which can consist of associations or private individuals around Sweden.
The main purpose of the registration is to list soldiers from the New Allotment System up to the degree of corporal between the years 1682 to 1901. Another purpose of the register is to collect the local registers and create a common portal for research on allotted soldiers and their families via the Internet. Genealogists and local history researchers contribute generously with information about both the soldier and his family. Information about who provided the information is given in the register.
